Make digital copies of your most important documents. Store valuable files (finances, emergency information, your art & writing...) in at least one offsite location (the cloud, a relative's house...).

Aber solange man auf manchen Instanzen nur Leere sieht (ist mir auch schon bei anderen "Großereignissen" passiert), ist das doch kein vernünftiges soziales Netzwerk. (Für meine speziellen Interessen ist es ausreichend, aber mehr auch nicht. Und das ist schade.)

@thrillhouse Ich vermute auch, dass es mehr dazu gibt, aber sie werden gar nicht zeitnah angezeigt (vielleicht abhängig von der jwlg. Instanz). Und das ist nicht gut.

Für eine Sendung wie #WettenDass eignete sich Twitter gut als virtuelles landesweites Lagerfeuer, mit Memes und Lästereien und Pipapo. Auf Mastodon zeigt es mir derzeit für den Hashtag insgesamt nicht mal zwei Dutzend Beiträge an. Kann man also vergessen. Kein Wunder, dass es so schwer ist, Leute hierher zu locken... (selbst wenn sie auf die Vogelscheiße keinen Bock mehr haben). 😐

The AI copywriting saga continues: Instead of acknowledging that their plan didn't work and changing their strategy, the people involved in the project are now wasting time and money discussing how to improve the AI prompts etc.

Normally, I'd say let this company lose that money, but the same company fired hundreds of people earlier this year due to budget cuts. I bet at least some of those jobs could've been saved had this project been run more competently and without this AI shitshow. 😡

@coffeenlanguage Yikes. Though not surprising, given that they've been promoting that nonsense ChatGPT webinar by S. Bammel and even featured him during ITD in September. And apparently, there's now also a premium membership option that includes AI. Urrg.
Every now and then I reactivate my membership for a year to test my visibility but that's a great reason to let it expire again. 🤢

Why is there still no way to move the "Getting Started" column in the Advanced interface to the left of the screen? Or is there? The UX is ridiculous!

For example, when I search for something in the "Search or paste URL" field in the left-most column and then click on a result, it'll open in the right-most column (the "Getting Started" one). Same happens when I click on a post that's part of a thread to read the next posts – the screen jumps all the way to the right. WTH?!

@DJV Dem zitierten SZ-Beitrag zufolge soll nicht das Gendern verboten werden, sondern die Nutzung von Sonderzeichen fürs Gendern. Und diese Sonderzeichen sind leider alles andere als inklusiv (siehe dazu z.B. Statement des DSBV oder Hinweise auf genderleicht.de bzgl. Leichter/Einfacher Sprache). Genderstern und Unterstrich sind auch nicht vom Duden abgedeckt. Insofern stimmt zwar hier der Aufschrei gegen Sprachverbote – aber die Argumentation im Blogbeitrag ist leider schwach.

@LThiry Dachte immer, das "Gro" steht für "grottenschlecht". Etwa nicht?
