@charliejane I feel like there’s a similar vibe with so many costume dramas 😩 but often with even less outsider cred to counteract their massive privilege. Sometimes I watch for the outfits and set anyway but sometimes it gets to me.

I feel like I've read a ton of fantasy books lately where the main character is living in ridic privilege/luxury but is an outsider/outcast. The protagonist is the only one who has some special power/ability, which allows them to live among the elite despite their low-born status. This allows us to have it both ways: fantasize about luxury but also still root for the underdog/oppressed.

Come on #Georgia and #Warnock idk if I can take the blow to my faith in humanity if he loses. Well I can and I’ll keep going but it will really suck and it sucks that it’s even close. Also I guess #Trumporg lost a court case and I’m just so used to there being plenty of proof against him and impeachments and stuff that mean nothing like it feels like nothing to me unless someone goes to jail or at the very least loses the right to you know serve again in public office like come on 😩

@baldur Good point! I think I too have been coming from the mindset that it has to "win" But if it can be long term and sustainable that's enough of a win on its own.

Also I don't know if it's #justification of indulging my #basecuriosities but I feel like #birdsite is more likely to die a more complete and hopeless death from people being bored and spammed to death than trying hard to #boycott out of principle.
