My pub has a stronger CoC than a lot of mastodon instances.

@ewen Capture One has still has their normal licenses even though they steer you away from it. Like other people, I got the impression they were ending their normal licenses, but I was wrong.

From what I heard, the period they cover software updates may have shrunk though. I've been getting updates for 6 months now, which is sufficient for me if that's as far as it goes.

I also learned that buying my license through the likes of B&H Photo brought the pricing down quite a bit.

As much as I dislike it, I do have a subscription to Adobe as well for the sole reason of compatibility with my clients' workflows. In this, there's a hidden benefit of how much their software tracks you. They know the only reason I'm paying them is just to have their software installed.

I opened up a cancellation chat session and told them that I know they have logs of my usage and if they wanted to keep me, they needed to offer their intro rate. They did that in perpetuity for about 6 years.

@brucelawson Can we at least applaud them for making blackmail the last resort? Also I have so much respect for the Tech Bros for not suggesting that they throw their meat sack tormentors into a wood chipper. That’s some restraint on their part, the exemplary humanists that they are.

@jonny this reminds me of Kenmore Sq in Boston. I can’t even begin to explain how traffic works there. I’m also amazed I wasn’t killed 100x over trying to cross that street because there are bad drivers and then there are Boston drivers… but I hear DC will put everyone to shame.
