We all watched on live TV as our democracy nearly crumbled as our capital was terrorized by thugs, then we voted for it to continue! I am embarrassed and beyond terrified of what my country has become. Our internal sovereignty decayed long ago. We’ve all lost family and friends to fascism. Was in the Idaho liquor store the other day, and a guy was down from Canada to get a case of Jack Daniel's. He was bent that they didn't carry JDs up there anymore. Huge political vibes in the air. I understood some (but only some) of the situation, so I muttered quietly to my son that it was because Canada banned liquor from Red States in retaliation of the tariffs. This guy seemed to be blaming the liquor strores themselves, but I wasn't sure.

Meanwhile, for some reason the Idaho government has banned my favorite liquor, Chartreuse which is from France, for some reason I have zero understanding of, and in its place they were selling a knockoff from MICHIGAN.

In today’s “terminology matters”:

❌ Return To Office policy: middle-management language that assumes “office” is a neutral position, we’re somehow “returning to”. This term has been carefully crafted by corporate strategists to sound as palatable as possible.

✅ Mandatory Commute policy: centers the outcome for workers - spending hours each day on an unpaid commute to and from the office just so we can be on video calls all day.

We don’t just have to accept hostile framing.
