Here's an example of how well the Bogner and the HM2 harmonize with each other to achieve a full range guitar sound. Sure, the Bogner alone sounds “clean,” but it lacks a few mids and overall it's just too “standard.” Don't get me wrong, I really like the module, but the combination of two sounds is what makes it work.

The example goes like this:
both combined, Bogner only, both combined, HM2 only, both combined (all more or less loudness matched)

This is the best Bitwig video I have seen so far. It's really inspiring to see another type of music producer building something (primarily with stock plugins) from the ground up.

As a musician educated for played - not produced - music, I have found the learning curve quite steep for how to make the computer a new second instrument - which I think it can be, and this video proves it is so. Very few videos shows this in practice.

This time I don't plan to reamp but to use the original use the recorded guitar sounds. As a backup I have the DIs but hopefully will not need them.

There is no drum track in this song.

Instead, I played the beats using the Glitching Beat Machine effect. I also added claps.

The bass is me playing a Fender fretless. The effect is 60's Combo. It is nearly all one take, except for a bar I duplicated b/c I thought it needed a stronger bass in that spot, and the riff I had kind of tapped. I think it was the 7th take.

There is one rhythm acoustic guitar track, played straight through on the 8th take. It has the Thin Strum effect and ChromaGlow was added.

The electric guitar has Seventies Rock effect. I added ChromaGlow, Echo, and Limiter.

The lead guitar was played on a Strat. I was emulating an alarm partly by picking fast. I used the RazorAmp effect. Then I duplicated the track and changed the effect to PitchWhammer. One is panned to the left, the other is to the right.

The vocals are one track of Dance Vocal for the main vocals, and one track of Telephone Vocal for the chorus, cut from the other. I tweaked the EQ.

I started out thinking I'd add organ to the chorus, but Studio Violas sounded better to me.

Now that the holidays have died down, i’ve been spending quality in the studio. Gotta say the SSL 2+ really makes working with hardware fun/ez in #Ableton. The interface is bus powered and has midi i/o built in with some clean a/d converters and is pretty cheap @ $250usd. 🫡
