I'm a software engineer who somehow found himself on the slippery slope towards an IT security career a few years back. That ended up with me now in an IT security architecture role.
I don't know *when* I first found your posts, but they were insightful and had cute furry art in them, so I stuck around.

Tired of "free" QR code generators that are full of ads and trackers, that share your data, and that want to sell you something? Me too. Here's my act of resistance: I made a one-page site that works entirely in your browser to generate a simple QR code. And that's all it does. You can download the HTML page and run it locally, even. Read the source; nothing up my sleeves. Just a QR code.
My offer to you -- I will continue to pay for the domain name and web hosting for it, myself. If you find it valuable, you can pay it back by creating your own useful thing for the world and releasing it for free. Let's take back the friendly web, one vexingly-monetized utility at a time!

Heute habe ich nach längerer Zeit mal wieder an einen Ex-Kollegen aus dem Ausbildungsbetrieb gedacht. Von ihm habe ich viel gelernt. Nachdem ich wegzog, hatten wir noch eine Weile Kontakt, man schreib sich SMS. Irgendwann riss der Kontakt ab.
Wie das halt so ist: Auseindander gelebt, ohne böses Blut. Jetzt fragte ich mich, was wohl aus ihm geworden ist, googelte, wollte mal ne Mail schreiben.

@ocramius Higher hourly rates for meetings, or bill prep and follow-up time on top of the scheduled meeting hours. It's not unreasonable to bill 30 minutes prep + 30 minutes follow-up for anything up to 90 minutes, and double those times for anything beyond that.
