Oh you sweet summer children. Aside from the blue screen that is actually in there and visible, I'd put good money on this being a giant greenscreen that had the color taken out for the video. I also saw what was clearly the backs of LED wall panels if we want to gripe about other non-practical things.

I don't know why they do this for promo....

Had to install #Windows11 on a virtual machine to run one piece of software. All I can say, Windows is an absolute dumpster fire of an OS. So happy I migrated to #Linux years ago.

@powerllama @vfxsup If you’re used to KDE go that route. I find Gnome the easiest for new users to get used to the transition. That’s about it.

@powerllama @vfxsup Just do a proper install of rocky or Alma. With gnome desktop to start. After that you can decide what window manager you prefer.

@powerllama How’s the Linux build going? Did you get everything up and running?

Seems like the #VFX industry is shaking up. Another studio has ceased operations. Sad day for all of our colleagues.

@powerllama @joesteel Rocky or Alma Linux are great for workstation. No issues running Houdini, Nuke, Resolve, etc.

Sad to hear the shutdown of #MPC #VFX. I had friends working in the Toronto and London offices. It’s an unfortunate end of an era. But the writings been on the wall for a while, with how #Technicolor ran these companies.

Hoping our friends and colleagues find new places of employment.
