@elysegrasso Thanks!
@stevefoerster @kimlockhartga Thanks!
@NaraMoore I need an editor for my toots😆 But yes I expect the pain will continue for some time
@saposcat It means set and clean up take as long as the actual painting.😆 But she enjoys it
#ScribesAndMakers May2. If you paint, do you have “recipes” or tricks for mixing colors, or do you eyeball it?
I only pain with my young daughter and our recipe for mixing paint seems to be to combine every color she likes together until it makes some dark brown/black then stop painting. 😆
#WordWeavers May2. Tell us something you liked about a recent passage you’ve written.
Well it sounds kind of sadistic if I say I really enjoyed writing my MC's mother being captured by mortal enemies but it solved a huge plot issue for me early on and I think set things in motion for the rest of the book.
#WritersCoffeeClub May2. How much research does your setting require?
A medium amount. It's a fantasy setting so it doesn't require precise research to make it work. But it is based on the early iron age for technology and knowledge, so I do a fair bit of research on ancient societies.
@SJHoodlet Happy Birthday month! 🎉

SHADOW OF THE ELDERS is out now! 🎉
In a world broken by drought family and friends are ripped apart. What will they do to find each other again? What magic lurks behind their journeys? Will it save them or plunge the world into further chaos?
Find out!
@crcollins Oh good idea. Thanks!
@Ink_Soul Thanks!
@strangeseawolf Thanks!
@kimlockhartga Thanks! I hope the book lives up to it 😆
@CA_Hawthorne Yeah definitely. I thought it was eye-catching and matched the story, which we're really the two biggest factors for me
#ScribesAndMakers May 1. What do you want to work on this month?
I have a spin-off novel from Shadow of the Elders, that I'm working on. This month is going to be busy for me for a lot of reasons but I hope to get some more work done on it.
#WritersCoffeeClub May1. International Workers Day. Which writer’s work blazed the trail for what you write today?
Well since I write fantasy I'm obliged to say Tolkien. But a lot of the adventure I write comes from myths older than LOTR. I'm very influenced by the Arthurian legends and even epics like the Odyssey. Tolkien is definitely a modern trailblazer but the influences go back farther.
#WordWeavers May1. If your cast of characters were a music band, who would play which instrument? Introduce them as they come on stage!
Ajeau would be the lead singer and guitarist. Vaten would be backup vocals and guitar. Savique would be the drums. Zejela would be bass. And there would be so many backup singers and dancers, introducing them would be like introducing the polyphonic spree. There's too many of them!
@CA_Hawthorne Thanks! It was all the designer's idea but I think it does sort of match the vibe of the book.
