@NightDrake You’re not asking a dumb question.
Press the NVDA key and the letter N to open the NVDA menu.
Arrow down to “Tools” and press Enter.
In the Tools menu, arrow down to “Add-on Store” and press Enter.
If this is your first time using the store, you’ll get a message telling you to make sure that you trust these add-ons, etc. Just press Enter on the OK button.
Now press Shift+Tab once until you hear “Installed Add-ons tab.”
Press the Right Arrow key until you hear “Available Add-ons tab.”
Then press Tab a few times, and you’ll land in the search box.
Type “numpad” and press Tab a couple times until you’re in the list of results.
Find the add-on called Numpad NAV Mode and press Enter to install it.
Once the install finishes, it’ll ask if you want to restart NVDA. Choose Yes.
After NVDA restarts, press Alt+NVDA+Plus (the plus key on the number pad).
That switches your numpad from regular mode to navigation mode.
Now your numpad works kind of like the JAWS navigation pad. The only thing it won’t do is move your cursor around the screen like JAWS does—but that’s something to talk about another time.
