#w3cTPAC
Over the past 2 years of renewed activity within the @w3c @wot #CommunityGroup, numerous organizations, open-source projects, and researchers have demonstrated how they are incorporating #WoT into their technology stacks across a variety of industries, incl. building and factory automation, energy, smart homes, and scientific instrumentation.

Earlier this month W3C held "Breakouts Day 2024" with Detailed technical discussions (including FedCM and RDF Star); High-level strategic discussions (including Building Consensus, Privacy Principles, Ethical implications of Generative AI); Ideas for working more effectively (including trackers and registries); Raising awareness about new or proposed groups and Improving the Web for developers (including web security docs for MDN). On the W3C blog, François Daoust and Ian Jacobs wrote a recap of Breakouts Day 2024 .
They summarized key aspects of the event.
Topics covered an interesting mix including: Detailed technical discussions (FedCM, workers, RDF); High-level strategic discussion (AI, Privacy, how we fund the ecosystem); Ideas for working more effectively (incubation, chartering, managing registries, running meetings) and more. https://www.w3.org/blog/2024/breakouts-day-2024-recap/
I'm still unsure about the future of WAM but I still want to keep it functional to help new
@wot developers to quickly start experimenting with the standard.
Today I released a new version 0.5.8, with automatic node_modules install and a nice spinner animation.
"Open W3C standard for IoT: Web of Things 1.1 specifications published" on the Oracle blog:
"After three years of collaboration amongst industry experts from Oracle, Siemens, Intel, Microsoft, Fujitsu, Hitachi, and others, the W3C Web of Things’ new architecture, thing description, and discovery specifications have been finalized and are now published as normative W3C recommendations... The goal of the WoT is to counter the fragmentation of the IoT"

Next Tuesday, @w3c is holding the breakout day where anyone, W3C member or not can participate in the discussions. There are two related to the Web of Things, that we invite everyone to join:
- How to manage multiple resources of a specification such as JSON Schemas, Ontologies and more: https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/fb7b6d9f-fc2f-456f-9fff-3a516f3ec7ab/

Here is the latest recording of @wot meetup! Do you know that you can use Web technologies to better monitor large-scale facilities and buildings?
Last week I gave a talk to the W3C @wot Community Group about @krellian's use of @WebThingsIO for commercial smart buildings. The high level business case, a tour of Krellian Cloud features and a deep dive into lessons learnt using #WebOfThings standards. https://youtu.be/7FGS10G-YIc?si=mabYUoP6T2B02mCi
The Verifiable Credentials Working Group invites implementations of the Verifiable Credentials Data Model v2.0 Candidate Recommendation Snapshot.
This specification provides a mechanism to express these sorts of credentials on the Web in a way that is cryptographically secure, privacy respecting, and machine-verifiable. The group is actively seeking comments by 01 April 2024.

In the next @w3c @wot meetup, we welcome Richard Bowman (https://github.com/rwb27/). Together, we will explore the intersection of open-source software, hardware, and standards.
It will be the first instance where we see the WoT in the context of medical applications.
