Just a dog on the Internet. I would love to tell you, but then, of course, I'd have to erase your memory.

Wczoraj w #OkoPress pisałem o aferze z pociągami #Newag:
oko.press/kto-unieruchamia-poc

This was shown during a course offered by one of the authorized CompTIA partners. I didn't get access to the full document, so the only thing I can tell about its provenance is what can be seen in the footer ‒ "Transition Guide for The Official CompTIA® Security+® (Exam SY0-701)".

However, it seems to be consistent with "The Official CompTIA Security+ Student Guide (Exam SY0-701)" [Pengelly 2023, pp 19-20] to which I have access.

A screenshot of page of document containing a paragraph with header "Hackers". The content of a paragraph is as follows:

"Hacker describes an individual who has the skills to gain access to computer systems through unauthorized or unapproved means. Originally, hacker was a
neutral term for a user who excelled at computer programming and computer system administration. Hacking into a system was a sign of technical skill and
creativity that gradually became associated with illegal or malicious system intrusions. The terms unauthorized (previously known as black hat) and
authorized (previously known as white hat) are used to distinguish these motivations. A white hat hacker always seeks authorization to perform penetration
testing of private and proprietary systems."A screenshot of a part of a page of a document with the following content:

"A hacktivist group, such as Anonymous, WikiLeaks, or LulzSec, uses cyber weapons to promote a political agenda. Hacktivists might attempt to use data exfiltration to
obtain and release confidential information to the public domain, perform service disruption attacks, or deface websites to spread disinformation. Political, media, and financial groups and companies are most at risk of becoming a target for
hacktivists, but environmental and animal advocacy groups may target companies in a wide range of industries."

@rysiek@mstdn.social And for our next trick, let's claim equivalence between unauthorized access and malicious intent.

A screenshot of a document with an Inclusive Language header and table with two columns ‒ Updated Terminology and Deprecated Terminology. One of the rows contains "Authorized, unauthorized, semi-authorized hacker" on the updated side and "White/black/grey hat" on the deprecated side.

The page footer says "Transition Guide for the Official CompTIA® Security+® (Exam SY0-701) | 8"

@MedievalMideast Thanks for the heads up!

Looks like the change occurred at the start of April.

Relevant section is 10.4, which lumps in machine learning training with the rest of the broad license to use customer content for the purposes of "product and service development."

#Zoom just* changed their terms and conditions to include using anyone's video and audio for training #AI with no option for opting out. You too can help train #deepfake s!

Living with a disabled spouse, I used Zoom a lot to get through the ongoing global pandemic.

What alternatives are out there for remote teaching/meetings?

[* Evidently changed by the March 31, 2023 terms of service, but I didn't notice until yesterday.]

I am reading the recently released #TheASF Generative Tooling Guidance (https://www.apache.org/legal/generative-tooling.html) and wondering how other organizations and projects approach this problem.

Are there any
#FOSS / #OpenSource folks on Fediverse that can shed some light on that? TIA
