@BenjaminZell It's Cakewalk. It's a pretty old system, but the workflow is reasonable and I haven't got around to finding something more modern. But it does handle odd time signatures with no problem. If you're changing meter frequently, that's a bit of a pain, but I expect that could be an issue in any DAW.

@jonldavis It was a joy and an honor to play a show with them a few years ago, back in the Before Times.

A couple weeks ago, a rhythm popped into my head with two bars of 7/8 followed by one bar of 9/8. I worked out the bass part in my head and a general idea for the drums, but it took a while before I got a chance to actually work on the project. Being a software developer as well as a composer, I ended up calling the piece "Vagrant Up." #Polyrhythm #MathRock #ProgRock
