Here's a short 400μm diameter cylinder (viewed from above, probably about 40μm thick) with a 12μm thick base. I printed it on the #RepRapMicron #3Dprinter, accidentally flooded the slide with about 20-30μm of resin, cured it, and peeled it off. This preserved the fragile base that you can see inside the cylinder. I was actually trying to clean the slide for reuse...

The big pointy thing in the background is a 0.5mm diameter hypodermic needle poked underneath the resin.

400μm diameter circle with perimeter and faint infill top right. Solidifed flood of resin progresses right to left, approx 80%. Resin is supported on the hollow end of a hypodermic needle, 500μm diameter entering horizontally bottom left.

So yeah, I don’t run my from about march until December, or whenever it cools down enough. It feels wrong to be actively cooling our house while generating so much waste heat.

What I most miss is I was starting to get the hang out parametric design with and basically from trial and error. It’s really, really cool and useful and definitely took quite a few evenings to just start to grok how it all works.

I took the print head apart and put it back together again. My suspicion was confirmed. When the larger plastic part is removed, the two rollers of the extruder move closer together and exert enough force, but with the part in place, this is prevented, so that PLA that is supposedly too narrow fails and is stopped with very little counterforce without the extruder even noticing. #bambulab #3dprinter

I think my BambuLab A1 mini really struggles with certain types of filament that are not thick enough, whether it's the old, two-year-old white PLA or the wood filament. With a little pressure, the extruder pushes it through the nozzle, but it doesn't do so continuously on its own. #3dprinting #3dprinter #bambulab
