Our February cafe was possibly one of our busiest cafes - you obviously missed us as much as we missed you!

Jeg har lige repareret vores Electrolux tørretumbler. Den blev ved med at skrive EHO i displayet. Og nu har over længere tid været træls. Jeg søgte på fejlen på YT og så en video. Bum. Frakoblede stikket.
Adskilte maskinen fjernede stik og print. Fejlsøgte på printet og det var den præcis samme fejl som i videoen. Fandt min gasloddekolbe frem og fiksede lodningerne. Samlede det hele igen. Satte stikket i og nu tøffer den bare derud af!

"GPIB‑USB‑B has been out of mainstream support for almost five years, and NI no longer updates or certifies firmware distribution for this product. Additionally, GPIB‑USB‑HS+ is not supported on Linux Desktop, so NI cannot provide enablement, licensing guidance, or approval for firmware redistribution in this scenario."

Your daily driver Windows computer is not obsolete after October 13th 2026. And above all it is NOT E-waste.

Your Apple computer is not E-waste if Tim Cook says so.

Chances are that even the beige DELL tower from 2003, which is currently holding the barn door open, is not obsolete.

And if you have an old/broken computer: please sell or donate it. If nothing else, someone can learn to solder working on it.

This is a followup to my photo of a Fisker Ocean sighting last week.

Wired magazine just published a long report on the Fisker Owners Association and their efforts to get right-to-repair for their cars. There's some sleuthing and semi-skullduggery in the story of how they rounded up all the spare parts.

To me, Solarpunk isn't just an aesthetic of "green cities." It is a protest. It is the punk of digital sovereignty and the right to repair.

Fun Fact: The movement was born out of a desire to move past the doom scrolling of Cyberpunk.

Tech should serve the community, not the corporation.

Supporting open source, keeping old hardware out of landfills, and building local resilience.

Adam Flynn wrote in 2014: "There’s an oppositional quality to solarpunk, but it’s an opposition that begins with infrastructure as a form of resistance."

Solarpunk is a future with dirt under our fingernails and open-source in our pockets.
