The problem with Contrarianism discourse on the Internet is you can be called a Contrarian when your opinion on something is no where near the opposite of popular opinion.
I like Andor, I like Andor a lot, it is well above average of what I generally from mainstream Western media in recent year. I maybe even like it more then some comparable Anime.
But I also like it the least of every Live Action Disney+ Star Wars show. So the Pretentiousness of how much Andor discourse revolves around how it's respectable High Art in a way that the Ahsoka show can't be really really annoys me.
Andor is an undeniably well made show, but it's also not going same thing any other Star Wars show is, it's very Genre appeals me less.
The only thing I dislike about Andor is it's Politics, or rather it's lack of Politics. I'm annoyed at everyone who thinks it's making bold Revolutionary Political Statement when it fact nothing it comes has ever been controversial to condemn. Like all Dystopian Media it defends the Status Quo by creating a Cartoonish depiction of what tyranny looks like.
It's potential applicability to any contemporary real world issue are Vague in just the right way to perfectly enable both sides to read their politics onto it.
