The Smiths were *the* band of my teenage years. As I bit of an outsider at school, their songs and image really spoke to me. I've always loved the way guitar and bass intertwined and kept the songs moving.

On the day that Desert Storm had begun, I got tired of chanting slogans in a town square, so I entered a record shop on the seaside town of Rimini and found "Yes, I am Blind" by Morrissey. Such happiness I remember, when I discovered it had been written by Andy Rourke.
