If you visit the Angel’s Envy distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, make sure you take the tour. By taking the tour, you end up at their private bar. This is where I indulged in their award-winning #OldFashioned which ranks in my top 3 for this drink.

I run a monthly whisky club. While we’ve historically stuck to scotch, this month I picked up the very rare and highly anticipated Angel’s Envy Finished Rye. And holy moly am I excited for this one. Their bourbon is fantastic so their rye has to be too? The nose on it smells like candy.

Can’t wait to see what everyone thinks. Any of you mastodonians tried this one yet? I’m getting over a respiratory thing so a few days before I taste it myself.

Of the 3 I’ve toured - Michter’s, Evan Williams, and Old Forester - I think Michter’s is my favorite so far. It’s not a terribly high bar though, so I’m looking forward to Angels Envy, Rabbit Hole, and beyond.
