Scary finding today in my garden:
The body of a dead slow worm (Anguis veronensis) was still "beating", but I found out it was infested by small millipedes (Blaniulus guttulatus) and maggots 😅

Well, this is the circle of life, recycle and get recycled ♻️

veronensis, commonly known as the Italian slow worm, is a in the family . The slow worm is distributed throughout and in southeastern part of . A. veronensis got its first scientific description in 1818, when it was described by Italian naturalist , and named after the Italian city , where specimens were found. The species name Anguis cinerea (cinereus).
