idk who needs to hear this, but remember how a while back I couldn't get Japanese input working in #Anki after version 25.02 on my Linux Mint setup? I switched from fcitx to fcitx5 (plus the accompanying fcitx5-mozc) and that fixed it 👍 Now I can input Japanese on the latest version of Anki (and calibre, btw, that also stopped working with fcitx)

If anybody wants a GREAT #anki deck for learning the vocabulary in Lupin S1E2 here you go:
Holy cow it worked!!!
Next step, see if Claude can ‘clip' the audio from the show at that part and include it in the flashcard.
So, I have been learning #French for a bit now and I also love the show Lupin. I asked #claude to create #anki flash cards based on the 'subtitle' file from the episode I'm watching now, based on my current learning level (A2/B1). And now I have a flash card study plan complete with timestamps for where to find it in the show....
Don't think I have what it takes to be a good open source maintainer, with how bad Dae is being treated by entitled users who have no idea how open source are run.

#Anki ownership transferred to AnkiHub

I've just put the hashtag on for better visibility
#Anki ownership transferred to AnkiHub. #Enshittification in 3, 2, 1...
Not gonna post Anki stats anymore, or maybe just not a screenshot because I didn’t take into account how it looks on mastodon mobile site :zerotwo_dance: #anki
A bit shocked by Anki being moved to AnkiHub but understand the motivation.
In some ways I’m glad they’re announcing early to hear feedback rather than dropping a huge change without listening to the community.

Some in some cards I gotta admit it, I actually don’t internalize the meaning and go on sound alone and that only screws me later. Like yeah, I can mostly get that correct in its context but I literally just blanked so hard on what it means that I couldn’t come up with 全般 for the life of me. Meaning first, writing second. #Anki #書道
I recently made some realizations on Anki for my Japanese learnings and how the FSRS algorithm has actually been hurting me.

Imagine a compact notebook that contains 60 ready to use flashcards (ruled, question front / answer back), built-in Leitner system level markers on every card, date field.
No app, no printer needed, just pen and paper. #Flashcards #Anki #SpacedRepetition
Two lines of Anki streak!

For everyone using Duolingo, FOSS has a very awesome alternative to it called Anki. You can use it to memorize vocabulary among other things during your language learning process. Trenton has made a good introduction to Anki: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MWtbI4IwfU
