Made rotini #pasta with homemade #onion, #garlic and #mushroom pasta sauce. I love slopping a tablespoonful of #sourcream into the mix as well.

Next up, the last of the Marie Callendars lattice #applepie accompanied by the last of a tub of Hagen Daszszzs pistachio #icecream.

Picked up a couple big #ribeyes today which will make a splendid dinner tomorrow or maybe Tues. Need more onion though since I’m addicted to my very own #steak smother sauce.

Just to harp on my pie of yesterday, as I'm having lunch-pie and am still struck by the result.

Pastry is crisp and flakey and the apples tasty by accident - I was using up leftover apples I wasn't enjoying – some boring Macintosh and some overly-sour granny smith. I grudgingly threw in an Empire (my favourite variety).

Three good things from today.
1. I got to eat a slice of leftover apple pie that I made for Thanksgiving. Surprisingly my kids are not into pie, so I have been chipping away at it 😋.
2. I went to a dinner for the Blood Cancer United organization where my wife received an award. She is a social worker and she helped to connect many cancer patients with this organization.
3. I was able to take public transit to the dinner. I caught a direct bus from downtown NYC to Monroe, NJ. I like finding new places that I can go without a car.
