Letztes Jahr hatte ich ja schon über „epische“ Spielsysteme geschrieben. Siehe hier.
Nun hat Mantic heute den Kickstarter zu seinem System Epic Warpath gestartet. Ich will gar nicht ins Detail gehen aber die Kampagne sieht gut aus, hat nicht zu viele Stretch Goals und auch Liefertermin und Basis Pledge sind voll ok. Und das Regelwerk kommt unter anderem auch auf Deutsch raus.
86 Euro für Regelbuch, Marker und was man so zum loslegen braucht plus eine Armee inkl. Versand, Steuern und Zoll sind auch absolut im Rahmen.
Die Sache hat nur einen Haken: Alle 4 Fraktionen in dem System sind optisch so gar nicht meins. Langweilig, öde, uninspiriert und einfach nichts was mich anhüpft und schreit „KAUF MICH! MAL MICH AN!“ Null. Nada. So gar nichts.
Versteht mich nicht falsch, ich sage nicht, dass die Dinger schlecht sind. Technisch gut gemacht und die Designs in sich kohärent und stimmig aber sie gefallen mir einfach nicht. So überhaupt nicht. Das hatte ich aber auch schon befürchtet, da die 28mm Variante ja das selbe in groß ist. Und die waren auch schon… meh.
Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass dann Armoured Clash mich mehr anspricht. Sonst wird das nie was mit mir und 10mm Systemen jenseits von X-Wing und Battletech.

Ich habe es ja schon öfter erwähnt. Als ich mit dem deutschen White Dwarf 21 1997 "ins Hobby gekommen bin" habe ich nicht sofort erkannt, das Warhammer 40.000 und Epic 40.000 zwei grundverschiedene Dinge sind.
Bis heute hat mich aber Epic nicht los gelassen und ich habe immer wieder zu diversen 10mm Systemen geschielt aber bis
