J'ai vu des défenseurs de assange, ne pas respecter la présemption de victime de mes compatriotes suédoises les traiter de ..., et minimiser son type de crime . Comme si leur cause justifiait un #slutshamming qui en définitive insulte par extension toute victime de #stealthing . Peu importe d'ailleurs si #assange est coupable ou pas de #viol .

Today, we told the UK high court we would allow Julian #Assange to have 1st amendment rights while he's being tried, and not be exposed to the death penalty. However, this isn't exactly the case. We have a not-so-nice tendency of amending indictments whenever we want, without much attention to anyone else. If #Assange is extradited here, and we just decide to charge him with treason, that would expose him to a possible death sentence. Also, foreign nationals usually never get 1st amendment rights while being tried. I missed one of Julian #Assange's hearings this morning. He was granted partial permission to appeal on three grounds. The high court wants to know that he will be granted his 1st amendment rights during the extradition and trial process. In other words, they would like him to be able to offer a public interest defence. the espionage act does not do such a thing here, even though several legislators from both parties have offered amendments to it. I'm about to link to a well-known source within the community that provides good coverage on the Assange case. A substantial portion of the documents on Julian Assange were destroyed by the Swedish Prosecution Authority, which investigated him for rape in a criminal investigation opened and closed three times between August 2010 and November 2019. The materials destroyed were correspondence between the Swedish Prosecution Authority (SPA) and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) which was providing the SPA with support on the case, since Assange was under investigation in Sweden but had been in London since 2010.
The correspondence between the SPA and CPS is absolutely crucial to understand and reconstruct what really happened in the Swedish rape investigation. That investigation was ultimately dropped once and for all without Assange ever being charged, but for almost a decade has deprived him of the empathy of public opinion. Especially the empathy of that segment of the public more sensitive to the WikiLeaks revelations on war crimes and torture, often the segment also more mindful of women’s rights."
Virtually impossible to defend against #EspionageAct. Truth is no defence. In addition, he won’t have access to any of the so-called evidence used against him.
