Along the way my daily dose of #Atorvastatin (cholesterol control) medication has been halved, TWICE, to (currently) 20mg. Although I’m also taking Vitamin D supplements (given that I have two skin shades: pale rider and incipient skin cancer, I’m not going to get Vitamin D any other way).

I got a call this morning from my primary care provider's office. Apparently Amazon Pharmacy was also on the line, though I did not hear them speak.

They asked about the dosage of my Atorvastatin. Yep. I'm at the max dose. 80mg. They also asked how long I've been on the drug. I told them that I couldn't remember when they moved me to Atorvastatin, but that I've been on statins since the age of 24.

"Oh my!" was the response.

I think they were concerned about side effects. I've been taking statins for ages without any evident side effect.

It reminded me of my trip to Taiwan. I had to renew my medication while there, and the doctors were positively stunned at my dosage of Atorvastatin. 80mg is ultrarare over there.

I've been off Ozempic probably for at least 2 months and I have been told it'll be out of stock till the new year at least. That's over 5 months away.

Apparently I am going to have to move to tablets that are half my dose and take two at a time due to Atorvastatin 20mg shortage. This can only be done by seeing a doctor first and getting a new prescription.
