What I’m considering for June/July next year #InsideJapan

@shlee We actually got chased once by staff at a restaurant when one lady left her change behind. I thought that was a joke by #InsideJapan in their tour information, but no, it really happens! 😂

Another look at the travel guidance provided by #InsideJapan #nagoya #tokyo

Related: This is a picture of a folio that zips shut - I bought it for relatively little at Big W I think before I left and I use it to keep things like dinky little Shinkansen tickets until I need them. And, yes, #InsideJapan had all of those waiting for me at my first hotel. :)

And, yes, I have AT LEAST that much detail for every travel day in the trip, in two booklets.

Look, folks, there’s REASONS I trust #InsideJapan, and past performance is a big part of it. An arguably bigger part is the evidence I have with me NOW that they’re STILL THAT GOOD. #CherryBlossoms2025

As an example of the service from #insideJapan, here’s a excerpt from the printed copy of the Info Pack they sent me:

Tour leader just rushed off to make sure that there won’t be bonito flakes on mine. This is part of why I recommend #InsideJapan - they always look after me well. #Kotohira

Yeah, so the #ChichuArtMuseum is an experience I really appreciated but it’s not something I would ever seek out on my own, if I even knew it existed. But that’s part of WHY I use #InsideJapan TO find out about these sorts of things.

In other #CherryBlossoms2025 news my travel docs arrived from #InsideJapan today. Very pleased.

I am slightly bemused by the “ONE set of a CPAP machine may be brought…” restriction. I don’t need one, but is there an illicit use of / market for CPAP machines that I’m not aware of? #InsideJapan #CherryBlossoms2025

OK, so the Japanese Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare (I think) are adopting a “no news is good news” approach. #InsideJapan #CherryBlossoms2025

So, essentially, if I don’t hear from them by Friday next week, then I won’t need a permit to carry my #TransientIschaemicAttack medications (specifically #Atorvastatin to control cholesterol and #Aspirin as a blood thinner).

“Namely, We DON’T ANSWER to your inquiry when YOU NEED NOT TO OBTAIN the CERTIFICATE for your medication.” [sic]

I must say that #InsideJapan looked after me well in 2017 and 2018, and it seems that their standard of service hasn’t slipped in the interim. They might even, possibly, have gotten better. Which I am very much NOT complaining about. 😂

Oh hey just as I was thinking about asking #InsideJapan about a portable wifi device they included one in the quote on spec. Neat!

#DOH #InsideJapan were making enquiries on my behalf re an English speaking guide at the Yamato museum in #Kure and have just found out that the museum will be completely closed from February 2025 to March 2026(!). So that’s pretty thoroughly off the agenda for next year. Oh well, it is what it is.

And booking form submitted to #InsideJapan. Still discussing pre/post tour add ons. Timing Kure for a Sunday so I can get an English speaking guide to the Yamato, er, maritime museum is proving a bit tricky…

In other news, I will be going to Japan in April next year to see the cherry blossoms. This may well involve a couple of days soaking in onsens in Hakone at the start of the trip. I paid my deposit for the group tour with #InsideJapan earlier, and they have looked after me well on my two previous tours with them.
