Una soffiata di Netanyahu a Trump, all’origine dell’attacco militare del 28 febbraio. Il premier israeliano avrebbe rivelato al presidente americano una riunione segreta, della Guida Suprema Alì Khamenei con tutti i suoi principali consiglieri: un’occasione unica per decapitare la leadership iraniana a suon di bombe. Giovedì 26 febbraio, due giorni prima del bombardamento, la conferma decisiva della Cia: l’incontro con Khamenei sarebbe avvenuto effettivamente 28 febbraio, un’occasione unica secondo l’agenzia. Quarantotto ore prima, mentre i servizi davano via libera, gli inviati di Trump Jared Kushner e Steve Witkoff certificavano lo stallo nei negoziati con Teheran. A quel punto, con la via diplomatica senza risultati, venerdì 27 febbraio Trump avrebbe dato l’ordine definitivo, alle ore 15:38, secondo Axios. Undici ore dopo ecco le bombe su Teheran e la morte di Khamenei.
Le versione di Axios corregge le dichiarazioni del segretario di Stato Marco Rubio, secondo il quale gli Usa avrebbero seguito la decisione di Israele. “Sapevamo che ci sarebbe stata un’azione israeliana, sapevamo che ciò avrebbe scatenato un attacco contro le forze americane e sapevamo che se non li avessimo attaccati preventivamente prima che lanciassero quegli attacchi, avremmo subito perdite più elevate”, ha dichiarato Rubio il 3 marzo innescando le proteste dell’ala isolazionista del movimento Maga.

Axios’ version corrects the statements of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to whom the US followed Israel’s decision. “We knew there would be an Israeli action, we knew that it would trigger an attack against American forces and we knew that if we hadn’t attacked them preemptively before they launched those attacks, we would have suffered higher losses,” Rubio declared on March 3rd, triggering protests by the isolationist wing of the MAGA movement.
