Day 13: what I'd recommend to someone looking for a hilarious comedy

#BadProsecutor is about as close to a comedy as I'll watch. They play up laughs and also have serious stuff. He's full of himself, unwilling to kiss ass at work, has a dedicated gang of outcasts as his back up, trying to solve Big Crimes but stuck catching lost dogs. And the friends he makes along the way.

I love this scene where Jin Jung brings his co-worker to eat at his mom's restaurant and his mom is so cringe, trying to set them up together. Kyungsoo doesn't have many lines, but the expressions on his face are SUPERB through the whole thing!

@pixelcats @whoosh omg it is HILARIOUS. I was wheezing during the airport phone call. And all the scenes with his mom. And when he gets shunned by his dog. And they make personal jokes about Kyungsoo as he is famous in real life for his excellent cooking skills, but his character in this show is terrible.

The cinematography was excellent, too! Kim Sung-ho (https://www.instagram.com/cinemind ) really made some lovely shots and colors. He posted behind-the-scenes pics while filming.

Bad Prosecutor
(2022 - Viki, 12 1:01 eps)

A prosecutor with a sense of justice so strong that he & his morally dubious gang find ways to punish criminals when the law isn't sufficient. Doh Kyung Soo is fantastic & has great fight scenes. Good acting by all, interesting side characters, a dose of comedy & a decent mystery made a pretty good drama. But we didn't get much background on anyone except the ML & character development doesn't happen.

There is no romance. We are left wondering how the prosecutor accumulated his great gang & why the 2nd ML does the things he does. His motivations seem to be for plot convenience, not because of his character. Not to be taken seriously, it is fun if you like D.O. & the OST has some great songs.

@dikgelukkig@sunny.garden I'll be curious to hear what you think about Flower of Evil. I adored #JiChangWook in Healer. Not a huge fan of violent shows but #kdrama does them extremely well! Just finished #BadProsecutor with #DohKyungSoo and I loved the action scenes with Kendo and Parkour.

He's my favorite. 🥰 I can vouch for the rewatchability of all of the below that I've seen (not including variety shows here. Only #kdrama):

On Netflix, #DohKyungsoo stars in #100DaysMyPrince. (Also on Viki)
On Viki, he stars in #BadProsecutor, #ItsOkayThatsLove, the Korean #SwingKids movie, and I haven't seen #AlongWithTheGods yet that he's in.
Another movie that I had to rent on Prime to watch is #MyAnnoyingBrother (also called Hyung) where he plays an Olympic judo athlete who loses his sight and his older brother (played by Jo Jung-suk) is released from prison to help him.

At the time, he was working day and night filming his #kdrama #BadProsecutor and debuted the iconic Jin Jeong red hair at this performance. I'm not sure how much time he had to practice and prepare for this performance as he forgot the words!

Impossibly, he endeared himself even more to his fans as he sat on that rotating stage all by himself and laughed with embarrassment in front of thousands.

He wrote and released this song just before his military enlistment. It is a popular cover song for other artists in Korea, too. I think even V from BTS once shared it as part of his personal playlist.
