Badger is feeling better.

A black cast iron wood stove filled with a blazing fire is in the centre of the frame. It has a stone surround and a marble mantelpiece with an arch to the chimney. There is wood stacked up on the sides of the stove. On the very top of the wood pile on the left is a light coloured cat, with short curly hair, sitting upright, with her head nearest the top of the stove. Her eyes are closed as she soaks up the heat from the stove.

Poor Badger doesn't care for dentistry!

She had a lot of teeth removed about 10 days ago (she suffers from resorption), so that's pretty traumatic in itself. To make matters worse the pain medication made her nauseous so she wouldn't eat and when I stopped giving her that medication she was in too much pain to eat the soft canned food. The others offered to help clean her plate but were foiled in the attempt and went off in a sulk. So everyone was pretty miserable, including Steven and me.

She's doing much better now that she's on pain and anti nausea meds she can tolerate. She's eating again and obviously feeling more like herself.

She'll have to go back to have the others removed in 6 months or a year. They didn't want to keep her under the anaesthetic any longer as her blood pressure became difficult to stabilize.

I don't do well when any in my little family are sick.

The best place to be on a grey cold day is in front of a warm fire.

As you can plainly see, the fluffy mat is only just big enough for one cat. Ping (Pangolin) is relegated to enjoying the floor that's warmed by the wood stove.

Her cream coloured chest reflects the warm glow of the fire which is out of the frame. The other cat has Siamese colouring and is looking to the left of the frame. Both have short wavy hair.

It seems that entente is possible

These two managed to sit side by side after all. This is how friendships are built and understanding grows (we hope).

Sitting on the patio at Harvest Clean Eats having a late breakfast while we wait for Badger to have her ultrasound at the specialty vets in the city.
She can't keep any food down and her bloodwork is perfect, so this is the next step to find out what's wrong with her. I hope so much that it's nothing serious. While she was waiting for this appointment she's been on anti-nausea meds, which worked. But that's not a long term solution.

They have good healthy vegan options, which is always appreciated.
