Yesterday I went to a dinner at a friend's house. Got home at 2.30 in the morning, so really no energy to drive a lot to get to a distant #fleamarket. I just went to one nearby, 5 minutes from home. I never find anything there, but, surprisingly, this time I found a small treasure of #bigboxpcgames. Another World, Curse of Enchantia, Dungeon Master... Plus a cassette player that can always come in handy.
And one of my cats, Pilù, is inspecting the haul.

Finally got around to showing off my #Civ4 big boxes. I'm super curious about this 'Eurobox' format, which only seemed to come about in the mid-late 00s in Germany. Anyone else come across these and/or know what the deal is with them?

A photo of the Dishonored 2 collectors edition. It’s set up to look like a display case for the skull-like mask of Corvo Attano. The box has been modified with lighting and a plush velvet lining.

A shelf of big box PC Games, featuring the distinct trapezoidal boxes of the old Eidos titles, Thief, Thief Gold, and Thief 2 the Metal Age. Additionally there’s copies of System Shock 1 and 2, the Kickstarter version of MYST (which looks like a massive tome), and a copy of “Neuroshock” which is a bespoke box I made for Arkane’s Prey (2017) because it should have been named Neuroshock dangit!

@HauntedOwlbear Here's one of my shelves! It hasn't changed much in the last few years, mainly for space reasons. This poor shelf is packed to the gills!

Weirdly, one of the items I'm most proud of having is The 3D Gamemaker, simply because it's still nuts to me that was ever in a big box.

(Also, hi from BBPCGC! I don't log into Facebook very often at all but I still think of that group fondly.)

Most of my retro stuff is housed elsewhere, but I realised that I have a very cute set of games and hardware down by my workspace, including my first sound card (the CMS Game Blaster), a treasured game given to me by a dear friend (The Black Cauldron, which never reached my country except in pirated form), a copy of Quake with a sneaky backstory, and a Covox Sound Source!
