Usually I'm quite pleased with how my paintings turn out, but this one has been a struggle for me. I'm not sure I love the yellow background (which is easily remedied). It's supposed to be a dog I knew and loved dearly and it just doesn't quite look like him. Hmmm...

I asked Cam if he's a good boy, and he's desperately waiting on the answer. (Of course he is).

Cam is a weird mix between a black lab, a german shepherd, with some Catahoula and several others in him. The DNA test results were quite fascinating. Anyway, he'll be 11 years old this December. He's named after former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton - don't get me started on the Panthers. You'll be seeing more pics of him, don't worry.

Mastodon, meet Rix, a 12 y.o. black lab I am #dogsitting for the first part of August. Such a lovely old boy. If Rix were an article of clothing, he’d be a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers, because he’s classic cool, super chill, and goes along with everything. Other neighbourhood dogs bark up a ruckus (especially my parents’ dog Missy, who lives just a few doors down), and he’s just out here in these streets, calmly vibing at his own frequency. 😎 I do love a snuggly sweetie. #BlackLab #SeniorDogs
