Hey I don't have the energy to write a long thread on why this current Bitcoin "rally," is not a real rally, so I'm going to lazily do this in one post:

* BTC is still a failed currency. No one buys anything with it. It's still slow and bad.
* The trading patterns are still weird. More whale and exchange nonsense.
* Anyone telling you to buy BTC now, probably lost a ton of money on NFTs, FTX, Luna/Terra, Axie, DAOs, or all of the above. Their judgement is bad.

The title of this 🧵 is "Landfills"

1/9 Municipal solid waste landfill design is an example of a multi-disciplinary engineering project. It takes long years and requires the input of various forms of expertise at every stage.

Schematic showing the cross section of a properly closed landfill. The top shows a multi-layers final cover of topsoil, sand, clay over garbage. It also shows pipes collecting methane gas to generate electricity. A multi-layer liner is at the bottom, clay and platic liners to prevent leachate leaks. The piping directs leachate to a pump station for safe disposal. Wells and probes are constructed around the landfill to check for leachate and methane leaks.

For mentees that I've pointed at Compiler Explorer, Matt is the creator of CompilerExplorer, and just a good human being!

I can't vouch for Chicago CPP User Group because I've never attended one of their events, but I can vouch for Matt.

A lot of AR/VR/Games/Audio-VST development is done in C++, so if you're interested in those areas, this is a good language to learn.

I don't recommend completely self-study for C++. Find friends!

The u-turn on DEI from the charismatic superbrain tech founder class has been illuminating. These are the same people who wrapped themselves in BLM and ERGs a couple years ago. Now they're saying wokeness is public enemy #1. What happened?
