I think the influx of gaming fans, independent groups and companies at #Blueksy is actually a motivation to return to the blogging scene (Will be the 2nd stint solo, 6th freelancing with established overall since 2010).

I hope to nail a few to-dos first.

You know it’s funny talking to people who actually believe in Bluesky because the average person doesn’t even understand Bluesky goal and vision.
I mean I literally had so many argue against Mastodon due to decentralization with me not realizing that is Bluesky goal too.
I just don’t have much hope and faith in Bluesky given all the issues and they are just dragging their damn feet to even get it out of beta.

@Zolyguy I was on #blueksy for a week and closed my account a few days ago.

Seemed to have a short engagement peak about 2–3 months ago. Rediscovered many folks I used to follow on Twitter, but almost nobody had posted recently.

Big news week in social media. #Twitter limits and walls. #Threads release. Twitter/#Meta spat. #Mastodon vulns including a 9.9 rated RCE. #Blueksy moving to fee-based custom domains for verification. Federal judge limits Biden administration contact. Chevy Chase voice: #IRC is still dead.

#blueksy had 18k signups yesterday before they closed down registration temporarily for server load, which is 10% of their size in a day. Otherwise they had between 2k and 4k signups per day. Considering that the team didnt hand out extra invite codes, this is a clear indication that over the last month bluesky's growth actually was not limited by invite codes. There was simply a large number of invite codes floating around in the system unused. A catalyst was needed to boost their growth again

And this is why it’s actually important for Bluesky to decentralize now rather than later.

Rip the band-aid off so that people on #Blueksy all realize what they’re signing up for.
