Truly made-to-measure rugs by Bolon

**Dezeen Showroom: **Swedish flooring brand Bolon has launched Truly, a collection of boldly patterned made-to-measure rugs.

Truly is a collection of five rugs, which have been added to Bolon's portfolio of made-to-measure products introduced last year.

The rugs are available in five designs characterised by enlarged patterns, striking colours and visible textural effects.

There are five rugs in the new collection

They are made from Bolon's classic woven vinyl material.

"To be able to offer the market our most expressive patterns in Truly as rugs feels exciting," said head of product management at Bolon, Klara Persson.

The rugs are made-to-measure in Sweden

"Truly rugs will add a unique look to any interior space with its bold designs," she added.

Bolon will produce the rugs to measure at its factory in Sweden, typically between a minimum of two metres by two metres and a maximum of four metres by eight metres, with orders for other sizes handled on request.

Bold patterns and textures characterise the Truly collection

Options for eight different trimmings are on offer.

Like all the brand's collections, the rugs are made with recycled materials and using only renewable energy.

Truly flooring collection by Bolon

Dezeen Showroom: Bolon has launched a woven flooring collection called Truly, which features hyper textures and "colour effects and patterns never seen".

Truly was created by Bolon's in-house design team and the brand considers it one of the bravest products it has produced.

"We've been braver than ever before," said Bolon head of product management Klara Persson. "We gave ourselves the freedom to try out and create all that we have been curious about over the years, questioning technical challenges and our own perceptions to innovate new expressions, weaving flooring in colour effects and patterns never seen."

Truly features bold colours and patterns

The Truly collection includes Anything Everything, a matrix-like grid pattern in shades of intense green, and Disrupt and Discover, a check pattern in threads of white and gold.

There is also a zigzagging pattern called 100%, the soft-toned collage-like design named I See You, and the dark and shining effects of Prexis.

Truly was created by Bolon's in-house design team

The styles in the Truly collection are available as a roll, as tiles measuring 50 by 50 centimetres, or as Bolon Studio tiles. All are made in Sweden with renewable energy and contain recycled material.

Bolon flooring by Patricia Urquiola for Bolon

Dezeen Showroom: designer Patricia Urquiola has launched a new flooring range for the Swedish flooring brand Bolon, combining Japanese stitching and Bolon's original weaving techniques.

Bolon by Patricia Urquiola is a flooring collection that draws on the craftsmanship and materiality associated with Sashiko stitching and Bolon's weaving techniques.

The flooring collection is informed by a Japanese stitching tradition

"When we started to work on this collection, we wanted to give the flooring a more authentic feel," said Urquiola.

"We started researching as we do for all textiles but applied the approach to weaving techniques. Sashiko came up as the leading concept for the collection."

The flooring can be used in a variety of commercial and residential buildings

The range comes in four muted colours: grey, beige with blue details, a clay-coloured pink and green. According to Urquiola, this palette creates a "cosy and warm" feel which is integral to the collection.

"By developing, experimenting and combining Bolon with Sashiko, the colours, patterns and designs came naturally," said Urquiola.

The flooring range comes in four soft colours

The flooring, which comes in a roll, is made in Sweden using a mixture of recycled and new material. The resulting "patch-like" patterned design can be used in office spaces, hotels and other buildings that require detailed floors.

Like much of Bolon's flooring, the range has a three-dimensional look which gives it a tactile appearance.

The rugs are available in durable materials from all of Bolon's original collections and the Bolon by You range, ensuring a variety of options "for any environment or project".
