I have to give Pinterest credit for one thing: it's really handy as an alt-text library because I can go into edit old pins and pull up the image descriptions (in a format where they are easy to cut and paste) when I use those images again elsewhere.

I can tell you one thing about book and audiobook promotions:

You have to promote beyond the launch month / week / day.

If you don't promote your back catalogue, it won't sell.

No matter how strong your book sales are, audiobooks need their own promotions.

People don't buy what they don't know about.

There are always people new to your work who want to know about what you've created & where to find it. You can always expand your fanbase.

I am feeling some feelings right now that Pinterest is fine with romance covers showing shirtless men (like the ones below) but censors covers with partially-clad women who are showing *less* skin if there's the faintest hint of a bra strap or the top of a garment that might be a bra, might be a sundress, who knows?

I use Genius Link to build intelligent tlinks for my audiobooks. It internationalizes the links, so you should see a local buying option; e.g., Amazon Germany, Audible France, Apple Books Australia, etc.

I'm a big fan of diybookcovers.com. I recommend them to indie authors who want to make 3D book mock-ups with a free tool.

I've hit a snag lately & I'm wondering if anyone has a fix.

There's an option to download pinsg with transparent backgrounds. Only mine never come out transparent: I have to import them into a second program, remove background, & export again.

Any thoughts on what's up? I can't figure it out.

Breaking news for authors who promote their books on Pinterest:

When you create a new pin directly in Pinterest, there's a new field for hashtags. You have to select from their hashtag list. The interface is not intuitive and tags are hard to find. But hopefully it will make pins more discoverable.

There's no way (that I can find) to edit old pins to add tags into this field.
