rating: 5/5 !!

review overdue from last year. i finished the year with completing this series and WOW!! It was one of the best things I have ever read. I was not sure when picking it up as i am not a super big fantasy fan, but this is exactly the type for me i guess :) The humour, the style of writing, the characters🥺, the world of it!!!! i miss it all🥺 I was extremely immersed in it😫. Jemisin is so skilled at creating a perfect rhythm and revealing or pivoting in the story at a right moment.
Even thought set in total dystopia it was written in a way that was thought provoking and adventurous rather than doom-sy.

@jomorespi En principi pots llegir en totes les llengües. La idea era fer-lo servir com a punt d'entrada de molts llibres al format de #bookwrym per tal que la literatura catalana també fos present al fedivers. Però com que tots podem llegir en diverses llengües no hi ha limitació als llibres que llegim. El que sí és escriure els comentaris i ressenyes dels llibres en català.

Tras cavilar pros (motivación y dimensión colectiva de la lectura) y contras (productividad y monitorización del ocio), ayer decidí crearme una cuenta en BookWrym —el Good reads del fediverso :fediverso:—.
Lo inauguré con una breve reseña de 'Por Nuestra Cuenta', de Judi Chamberlin. Hice lo propio en la instancia Comelibros Club, creo que la única vigente en español.

Voy a ampliar el disco de comelibros.club y sopadeletras.club, ya que llevo semanas recibiendo avisos de Zabbix.

⏳ En 5 minutos reiniciaré el servidor para expandir el disco a 100GB.

Je n'aurais pas pensé lire un jour ce livre d'Arthur #Schopenhauer, mais c'est en écoutant un entretien de Clément Viktorovitch que j'ai eu envie de feuilleter l'ouvrage. Je dis feuilleter parce que je ne m'attarderai pas trop sur sa lecture et que j'en entendrai ce qu'il est compréhensible sans trop m'investir sur les passages difficiles, du moins aux yeux du commun des mortels :-)

celeo.de ist mein eigenes Projekt... noch föderiert es nicht... da grüble ich noch und es bedarf etwas mehr Arbeit.

Was funktioniert, ist, ein lokales Celeo-Konto mit einem #Mastodon-kompatiblen Konto zu verbinden. Dann werden automatisch Filmbewertungen über dieses Konto erzeugt.

Following a theme of avoiding interacting with sites that track my behavior and input and using algorithms to push me toward their desired outcome.

@austin I was tracking and agreeing with everything up until the point of still requesting that the bridge be "opt-in". As I see it the bridge should be considered no different than any other #ActivityPub instance/platform. Are we going to start requiring opt-in for every other platform that uses ActivityPub like #Pixelfed or #Bookwrym or #Pleroma ? If people want opt-in then they can be on a #Mastodon instance that doesn't federate with anyone by default.

#Bookwrym and other Fediverse people, I’ve created an account for myself on SFBA’s new server for book lovers. I’ve imported all of my books from Goodreads, and the import worked pretty well once I figured out how to do it. Only 16 books had issues, so I’ll be trying to add those manually.
