When I need to use up paint to clear out a palette, I reach for Canson XL watercolor paper; no stress, just putting brush to page withour caring if it turns out well. I had a small palette with colbalt blue, quin purple, and Mayan Dark blue genuine; using a petals 10 and a round 6, I painted some leaves.
