Heads up Northern CA folks! We're going to be slammed with an atmospheric river starting Tuesday and hitting hardest on Wednesday, so recharge all your chargers and devices now, and get ice for your fridge before the storm hits.
Well damn! We just had a cloudburst that got heavier and heavier and heavier, then a branch fell on the roof with a BANG!
And then the rain just stopped completely. All in less than 5 minutes.
Today's forecast: Looking out about 12 or 13 miles across the ocean, I see puffy clouds, but no dark rain clouds. So no rain for at least the next 15-20 minutes.
I'll take it.

In exciting PG&E can't run it's own business news today, there's no date given as to when we'll get the power back on. But hey, I got my phone and my rechargeable lamp that can also charge devices charged to 100% from the car while working today.

Much as we all hate propane, I'm very grateful that the first house I'm cleaning has a propane fireplace, give that the power's out. It's nice to be warm even if only for part of the day.

So hey, remember how I had my lunch break outside in the sun yesterday because there was a rainstorm coming today?
So it’s been raining steadily since about 10 AM, with occasional wind gusts. There are deep puddles from the run off and there was a huge downed tree blocking half the road that I had to drive around on my way home.
Are we done with the drought yet?

Good morning from #SanGabrielValley in the Pasadena-Altadena area where the #weather station up on the roof tells us that we’ve had 7.63 inches of rain in this event. So far.
Friday #rain total from midnight to 11:59pm is 5.39" and as you can see in the photo, 1.83 inches since midnight.
This storm accounts for nearly all of February’s 7.7 inches of rainfall
For context, December’s total was 6.41" and we were so grateful for that abundance!!
Damage caused by last night’s crazy gale force winds in the #SouthBay. Trees are down and lots of branches on the ground.
Sitting in the car with the heat on, recharging devices, as you do, watching PG&E trucks go up and down the road.

Storm update
We're going to try to make spaghetti tonight on top of the woodstove, as we've found food in aluminum casserole pans reheats really well, so it's worth a shot. 7 days without power now, & PG&E keeps pushing the date it'll be restored by back. It's supposed to rain all day then be super windy tomorrow, so probably more downed trees, again.
