I'll digress with a political illustration: In every crisis, we apply quick fixes (techno, reforms) that provide relief in the moment but strengthen the system in the long term. The result: the megamachine (Mumford) becomes more resilient... to its own dysfunctions! Only a questioning of the root causes (centralization, instrumental rationality) can break this cycle.

If I've learned anything from #TV series and other stories, it's that you don't try to subvert or avoid a #prophecy, but rather that you /prepare/ for them instead. Which I guess is similar to a #PredestinationParadox or #CausalLoop.
I think what really anger me is that most of the times, it presented like : "voilà! this explain everything!"
No, it does not! Stop trying to convince me otherwise. It's a plot hole. The time loop doesn't exist if it doesn't exist means it has no cause. And in a story where the causality is important, you can't make the most important plot point causeless. At least admit you don't know what the cause is, if you don't have answers.

This kind of thing in time travel story is driving me crasy, or rather the fact that the bootstrap of the loop is basically never spoken of !!!

The strange thing is, in Homestuck it doesn't really bothers me to much... But here is the thing : Homestuck is actually noding at the fact that time travel is messed up and not to try to think to much about it. And there is so much more to the story than this that it's easy to put it aside anyway. Also, it's not trying to be hard science, it's clearly in the fantasy zone, so it does matter a lot less.
