“I think I started to understand the concept of trans joy a day or two after starting hormones. I'd been depressed and confused for so long about so many things. The stresses and life trials I've been through in the past handful of years have been immense. I truly felt dead inside and my mind had decided the best way to protect me was to feel nothing.

Within a day or two of starting HRT I started feeling again. And the feelings were positive ones. I distinctly remember the twinkly lights bouncing off of the water at Avonmouth on a sunny day when driving down the M5…and thinking it looked beautiful. I hadn't had a thought like that for years.”
