Wat ik zo frustrerend vind is dat zo'n beslissingen zo moeilijk electoraal af te straffen zijn. In de eerste ronde #chatcontrol heb ik nog gemaild naar de Vlaamse EMP's, zonder respons. Een vriend kreeg van CD&V een standaard "think of the children" terug. De positie van Groen is nu dat privacy inderdaad belangrijk is, en dat ze dus het nieuwe voorstel (incl. leeftijdschecks) steunen.
Vragen die dan echt geen advies aan onafhankelijke IT-ers of privacy-experts?

@edri (le confédération européenne dont est membre @LaQuadrature) poste un nouveau thread sur #ChatControl. A cette occase cette affirmation « the Council also wants to make it mandatory for most or all private communications services (emails, Signal messages, WhatsApp, etc.) »
On ne sait pas bien c’est « si… » ou si c’est « avéré ». j’ai compris que cette idée a été clairement écartée dans les rédactions récentes du draft. A force de « on craint que » je me demande si la surenchère n’est pas contreproductive, en voulant alarmer avec excès .

Do you have any real influence on @EUCommission dismantling those rights on multiple fronts? They seem to be quite determined in giving out our personal data to US digital giants and establishing a comprehensive communication surveillance system.
Did not find anything related to those on your news feed during the last few months. Would be glad to hear about EDPS stance and actions preventing this weakening of rights to privacy.

L'UE ci riprova e propone verifiche obbligatorie di identità per aprire account email e messenger, eliminando di fatto l'anonimato online.
Inoltre, i minori di 17 anni non potrebbero più scaricare app come WhatsApp o Instagram, impedendo persino la comunicazione con i propri genitori.

@amy @Tutanota the EU council adopted the revised proposal that explicitly excludes mandatory scanning, it now goes to a trilogue negotiation between governments, the council and the parliament
however we have strong opposition in the parliament as per https://www.patrick-breyer.de/en/eu-chat-control-twist-commissioner-sides-with-parliament-over-governments-boost-for-european-parlaments-strong-mandate/ so there is a non-0% chance #ChatControl finally dies today to a block in the parliament :BlobhajHeart:
