July 16th, in Chipiona, is Virgen del Carmen day, the patron saint of sailors. We stopped for lunch in (what we call) the "blue square" (actually the Parroquia De Nuestra Señora De La O) and walked back via one of the prettily decorated streets. #Chipiona #VirgenDelCarmen #July16th

At the very front, and between the first two buildings, is a brown sash with the words, in upper case, and in white, "BENDITA TU ERES. Yesterday I went to watch Chipiona C.F. play Racing Club Portuense in a midday kick off. The game ended up 1-1 and Chipiona with 10 men after having one player sent off. It got a bit tasty at times but it was a good, lower league game with a few players impressing. That's three times I've seen Chipiona play in the last two years, without defeat (I've jinxed them now, haven't I?).

And it is still only 5 euro entry!
