I went to learn from Minamata again today and still need to digest the more important experiences. It would have been great if we had the time and energy to visit OtomeTsuka (Maid Hill) but we didn't so we took a look at this art memorial while walking to a view of the sea and back. Brass balls might serve to represent corporate attitudes toward externalities like poisoning an ecology and killing poor people.

A Digital Camera photo of the Minamata Memorial 5 of the 128 steel balls of the exhibition are in the photo prominently. Other balls are in the background to the left closer to the roof of the Shorinji Kenpo Karate building in the farther background. The clear glass panel mentioned in descriptions of the landscape(architectural?) exhibition is in the photo too. The beautiful sea, Amakusa islands and some of the coastline are also in the view. The steel balls are described on an English page of the Municipal Musuem dedicated to Minamata Disease.

Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida dressed in dark suit with blue tie and various lapel pins faces that camera seated with chopsticks in one hand and what seems to be a bowl of rice in the other. The captions lead the view to think that, on the tray and plate under his hands, there is flounder from Fukushima. The captions also lead one to believe that he is eating the cafeteria-tray meal as an "appeal" for the "safety" of Fukushima's sea food. The image was provided by the regime's PR (CM) department and was supposedly filmed in the afternoon at the official PM's residence. The caption-line for his sentence is about how the al-dente (good teeth-feel?) is different and how good is the taste of Fukushima flounder.
