I just had the #vaultRPG Kickstarter deliver. I forgot I backed it a year and a half ago, back when I was feeling super into #cyberpunk reading #CitiesWithoutNumber. I got the early bird pledge, which means the box set and an extra rulebook, and last night I started reading it.
It's... Interesting, and so far the rules seem to work. I don't know that I'll ever run it, but might steal ideas from the setting.
In "Cyberpunk But Different!", we take a break from our #CyberpunkRED campaign to talk about #CitiesWithoutNumber.
Building on #WorldsWithoutNumber and #StarsWithoutNumber, this rulebook provides a cyberpunk ruleset for a generic world (well, it's generic until you get done setting up your campaign with a bunch of cool random generator). #Cyberpunk

I’m flipping through #CitiesWithoutNumber and boy howdy it’s great. I was worried that it would lean too much on D&D-style class fantasy, but nope, it’s effectively a classless system, yet still maintains B/X compatibility. The optional rules allow metahumanity and magic, which makes it a better #Shadowrun than Shadowrun in my book.
@MerricB @LeviKornelsen and he’s made it as a sandbox system full of tools for the GM with minimal but interesting setting fluff that can be used whole cloth or jettisoned completely. #scifi #SWN #StarsWithoutNumber

@Tim_Eagon @chgowiz @Yora all three (#SWN, #WWN, #CWN) have free versions and he’s looking into an open license for comfort. His own position is that RPGs are by nature open content so there’s no need for an #OGL, #CC, #ORC, #ELF but he understands the reassurance a license gives after all of this OGL hullabaloo. #StarsWithoutNumberRevised #WorldsWithoutNumber #CitiesWithoutNumber
Typing out some #CitiesWithoutNumber #SoloRPG session reports and it’s leaned far further into a story format that I was aiming for. A bit indulgent for a game write up but I must admit I am really enjoying writing again.
C&C game was postponed due to scheduling clash, so I'm pushing on with my #CitiesWithoutNumber #Cyberpunk #Worldbuilding for #Setting23.
Built a city district, replete with corps, government officials, gangs, NPCs and community themes, as well as continuing with my random setting flavour I posted about yesterday.
It’s quite an early beta so I’m now starting to push up against gaps in the document. But so far, the tools have been excellent, and of similar quality to Worlds Without Number.

"I wish I could avoid AI generated images but I have no control over the people I pay." is a pretty weak take and is making me second guess backing Cities Without Number. This would be the first Sine Nomine product I don't buy.
