Attending an academic #conference that’s new to me, in a field that's still pretty new to me, makes me wistful for the golden era of academic twitter. At least in #librarian land, you could always find a pretty good simultaneous, often critical, backchannel. Made it easier to get the context on things and connect with like-minded attendees. Conference apps don't seem to be filling that void.
