Some recent acquisitions from Julio's Liquors.
A couple of weeks ago, Cape Horn Tequila was in for Whiskey Wednesday Gone Wild. Not only was their product fantastic, as evidenced by my purchase, their story is incredible and inspiring. Sales of the tequila support https://skeletoncrewadventures.org/ helping veterans heal PTSD. There's a documentary out about the trip that led to the creation of both the program and the tequila: https://www.hellorhighseas.com/
This past week, Whiskey Wednesday was High Wire Distilling Co. Everything we tried was made from 100% heirloom Jimmy Red corn, which has a unique flavor that I really enjoyed. I brought home the Classic, Straight Bourbon Whiskey. We also tried their Bottled in Bond and Oloroso Sherry Finished Bourbon, which were also great.
And the 10th Anniversary BiB, which wasn't available for purchase, but I liked enough to special order. We also got to try their Belleville Rye, which isn't available yet but will be arriving in MA soon. I plan to pick that up, it's very different and I thought it was great.
While I was there for High Wire I also picked up the two new Compass Box expressions which had just arrived - Nectarosity and Crimson Casks. I was able to try both a few weeks ago through a special tasting, and I've been looking forward to their arrival.
And lastly, we're planning a little Octoberfest gathering in a month. While the focus will be beer, I thought it might be fun to have a few other German offerings on hand. I grabbed Nassau Whisky Single Malt and Berentzen Apple Liqueur.
