Space Marines vs Adeptus Mechanicus (71 - 33)

Possibly my best game yet. I scored well with my jump packs and terminators while the big guns did their thing.

I got an early lead by killing an Armiger and scoring two lucky secondaries with a sacrificial jump-pack unit in my first turn.

MVP was the Redemptor Dreadnought; the -1 damage and Adept of the Omnissiah made him absurdly survivable.

Seven purple and gold Warhammer Space Marine models with various weapons and armour types standing on sandy bases. This is my first dreadnought/vehicle, and it's taken a lot longer than I expected. The base still needs some work, and I’ve only just now spotted the white spot in the lascannon barrel 🤣, but overall I'm very pleased with it.

Purple Space Marine Balistus Dreadnought stood on a barren soil base. The dreadnought is a bipedal robot with its arms replaced with a pair of lascannons on its right and a missile launchers on its left. The centre of the body has a golden eagle and a scroll saying Eored, and the it’s right shin has a scroll saying FAITH.

Completed the combat patrol part of my leviathan box. Feels good to finally have a playable force ☺️

I think the basing still needs some love, but I'm happy enough with it for now. I also really need to improve my photography set up 🤣

12 Space Marines stood in two ranks. From left to right there’s a Terminator Librarian in dark blue armour with gold trim. His right hand is behind him holding and axe and his right hand is upheld and glowing blue. There’s then a squad of 5 Infernus Marines, there are all in purple and gold armour, with the Sergeant having a red helmet. They are all holding a flame thrower, the Sergeant has his strapped behind him and is throwing a grenade. Next is a Captain in Terminator armour. He is in purple and gold armour and is stood on the corpse of a Tyranid and some rocks. He has a gun in his left hand and a sword in his right. To the right of him is a squad of 5 Terminators in purple and gold armour. These have white helmets except the sergeant who has a red helmet with white stripe. The non-Segargent models have guns and powerfits, while the Sergeant has a gun and a sword.

Two more completed Terminators, their Librarian and their Captain. That Captain sculpt looks soooo good.

Three purple and gold Warhammer Space Marine Terminator models stood in a line. They are primarily purple with gold accenting and a white face mask. The left-most model is holding a rotating machine gun while the other two are holding short boaters with silver boxy magazines.

5 mostly completed Infernus Marines.

I need to finish some small details and get some decals on them. But for my first non-test paint scheme unit, I'm very pleased.

I'm not sold on the bases. Might try to make it more sand coloured.

I'm not a fan of the white backpack, but the full purple marine looks much better now I've done some highlighting.

From left to right the variations are: White pauldrons with a white backpack and red weapons. Purple backpack, white pauldrons and white weapons. Purple backpack, purple pauldrons and back weapons. Black backpack, purple pauldrons and black weapons. And black backpack, purple pauldrons and black weapons. The models are sat on black bottle caps on top of a blue plastic lid.

Experimenting with different backpack and pauldron colours for my purple marines.

I'm enjoying the white pauldrons, but I'm torn between the purple and black backpack. I'm not sold on the white kneecaps either.

Got about an hour of painting done today. Still trying out some colours for my space marines. I'm still leaning towards the purple but want to try a darker one, as this is still a little too pink for me. Though shading and that should help.

Hats off to any Salamanders players; warpstone glow is a frustrating paint to work with. It's still patchy after 3 coats.
