In my continued struggle of owning more crap than I'll ever be able to paint up, I've decided to swallow my pride and try going with quicker shader based paints - at least for factions / armies that aren't super special to me.

This particular chicken gave me a lot of concern and "trust the process" moments, but has ultimately helped build a lot of confidence that I can go this route and have minis that I'm still quite happy with.

A painted miniature of a Cryx bonejack from Warmachine. The creature in question could be described as a bipedal mechanical chicken, with the magnetized head and weaponry missing from the photo. The armor plating on the bonejack is a lighter grey / brown, with the knees, spurs, and clawed toes in a shining gold. Numerous vents cover the surface, where one can see the sickly green glow of undead soul juice powering the small menace from inside.

This first photo shows the front-left side of the jack, facing where the head would be attached if it were painted yet.

Weaving in progress on the loom. The pattern is rows of boxes but the colors go diagonally and blend into one another.

Haven't posted a #wipWednesday for a while but I find myself working on this 'what to do with plastic hangars' project for my new grandson. Hope to have this little angel sewn together this week. All of the crochet work is finished except I still need to make a mandala for the face. I have a cute little rainbow halo all set to top it off. #crochet #recycling

A framework of white plastic hangars have been sewn together to form an angel about a meter tall. It lies on the floor with a jumble of white, gold and baby blue crochet work piled in the center, while a lacey bit has been stretched and sewn to cover one of the wings.

#WIPWednesday • I started a new variegated thread section of the Milky Way this week in between a lot of admin tasks and some family visiting. #SciArt #embroidery

Lia’s fingers show a wooden embroidery hoop with black linen with a rectangle of dissolvable material on which is printed the Milky Way in black and white with some red and blue markings. Some tiny single strand seed stitch and French knots in white, peach, oranges, and dark browns and grays have been stitched. Below the Milky Way is black on black whipped backstitch that looks a bit like flames, it’s pubic hair. An hourglass-shaped needle minder that reads “this is taking forever” is attached to the cloth.

I dunno, maybe I'll make this into a proper Thing someday. The perspective course I'm taking is inspiring me, I guess. #wipwednesday #furryart #MastoArt
