#ContributionGraph

@jpeelle

I am once again asking you - let's make a community-driven #ContributionGraph 🙂

ooh yes! Love it! Thanks for pointing that out, @elduvelle
#ContributionGraph

Congrats to @SteinmetzNeuro and the whole team. Looking forward to seeing the responses to the survey shared in that thread.

@jonny when we build that #ContributionGraph there's going to be a big-ass node called "Social Organizing" and transform that bad --> good for the CV :catnod:

@dlevenstein yes! Slightly related - since you've been reading this, you may like what we've been discussing about the #ContributionGraph here: neuromatch.social/@manisha/110

I really like the idea of a #ContributionGraph or some means of tagging and associating dois that goes beyond citation maps. For the very reason that citations are prone to various unintended biases that accumulate over time rather than self correct (winner-take-all mech. but for publications). Just notice some of the overlooked contributions in #HippocampusGurus thread for some examples!

Let me know if/how I can help.

@karihoffman you have no idea how much that means to me, thank you!! I ended up adding this :FaceHoldingBackTears: custom emoji to our instance #neuromatchstodon just to express how I felt reading your post @gratitude ! Hope the students and others will find the review useful.

Agree about the barriers you've mentioned. And sincere apologies for missing your paper (and I'm sure many others even after citing 565 papers 🙈).

Going #offtopic again sry -- I feel that we need to start building a better #ContributionGraph so that no one's contributions get left behind. It is something some of us at #neuromatchstodon have discussed building. I imagine the graph to be like a bit like neurotree for #neuroscience but where research areas could be the nodes and researchers can add their own contributions in the tree where they think their work fits, potentially often connecting different research nodes. And ofc we can expand this to all forms of contributions within #academia and #science
