Agreed, the folks I interviewed are part of a long line of strategic voting initiatives and organizations. There was another group called #CooperateForCanada (and "Citizens for Cross Party Cooperation" before that) from #WaterlooRegion in 2012. Different founders, whom I also knew through other local orgs. Same ideas, same problems.

The impression I got from my interview with #CooperateForCanada people is that they had not at all considered second-order effects of their strategy. That is, eliminating the smaller progressive parties or candidates will leave only the Liberals, and a Liberal majority government is increasingly indistinguishable from a Conservative government.

#CooperateForCanada was active during the Ontario provincial election as well. I interviewed two members for @radiowaterloo.ca's #CommunityConnections show. One of them claims to be a founder.
