At tonight's closing plenary for the #CreatingChangeConference, #AngelicaRoss led a takeover of the stage by the just-created CC23 #Trans Action Collective, *demanding* #accessibility and #accountability. WOW and YES MA'AM.
I took some pix (and also got "Pose"d pix with Angelica, who hugged me when I told her I presented at last year's #TransTech conference ☺️). Will edit and process when I have the energy. Meanwhile here's video (takeover starts about 32 min in):
There are really good speakers and topics at the #CreatingChangeConference but the crowded, noisy space is really not good for me. Especially the session I went to on #ableism and #accessibility which was crammed into a very inaccessible room. The presenters (who were great) acknowledged and were apologetic about this, but I almost left. Especially when a late announcement came through that Alok was doing a meet and greet at the same time. Sigh.
The #CreatingChangeConference has barely begun and I'm already peopled-out. I have Sensory Processing Disorder and get overwhelmed pretty quickly nowadays.
Fortunately, they provided an overflow room for the opening plenary, so I could watch it with lots of space and less noise. They also have a scent-free quiet room attendees can use during the day.
