I'm having a blast listening to the livestream of the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. It has been glorious so far so I'll be posting a few updates along the way of the shows I most enjoy (in between working! No complaints though as I'm happy I'm still getting to listen)
The first block I heard was a delightful deep dive into the Woody Guthrie archives (led by his granddaughter Anna Canoni + Joel Rafael) which gave me an even deeper awareness of Woody as not only a folk artist, but also as visual artist, notebook creator, a father, and a spiritual thinker.
The second block (which is going on right now) is a group of musicians singing some of their favorite songs by other folks. Right now #CrysMatthews is singing as we speak!
